Some of my recent cakes

Okay, so the truth is, I don't remember what I have uploaded and what I haven't. For that reason I decided to upload all the ones that I have done in the last while.

So much catching up to do.

I have so much catching up to do. Now that I found a camera cord to download pictures, I can start posting more often. Oh, and the fact that school is done for the semester helps too! YAY so excited. Anyhoo...
Here are some pictures of my kids at Hee Haw farm. They actually had a lot of fun. deKyn loved the big slides, Taegyn loved the corn maze and Davyn loved the animals.
I would say that deKyn loved the animals too except he got really upset when a goat head-butted him! Cory and I found it hilarious, him, not so much. I think going to Hee Haws might be something that we will have to start doing every year.

80% sure

When we went in to have our ultrasound done, Cory was really excited to actually find out this time what we were having (especially since we kept Davyn's sex a surprise.) But the little stinker had the cord right between the legs. They are 80% sure that we will be adding another girl to our household! I didn't care either way which sex we would have, but Taegyn is awfully excited about the sister that will be coming.
It's true that I too am excited to have another little girl to dress up and do her hair and put cute little bracelets on. I think that we are lucky to be able to have two of each to even out our family. What a nice way to end things.
I know that I have said before that we were done, but this time, we really mean it. This will be the last addition to our family, and we couldn't be more excited to move on from all the baby stuff and just enjoy watching our kids grow up.
I would post pictures, but the ultrasound people didn't give us any. They also didn't give us a video of the ultrasound either. Maybe they just figured this was our fourth, so we probably didn't care to have it.

Tired of being sick

I am so tired of throwing up all the time. I don't remember it being this bad with the other kids when I was pregnant. I guess that is what happens though right? You forget how bad things were so that you'll have more.
Cory and I wanted to be done after we had Davyn. We went to the Temple to confirm this fact before we did something permanent, but of course, I didn't feel good about being done. So, we decided to try for one more.
Well, we don't have to try very hard in our family, because it didn't even take a month. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful that we have such an easy time getting pregnant, its just the after that I have a hard time with.
It's one thing to feel nauseas all of the time, but quite another thing to vomit 2-4 times a day. I hate those woman that say that they don't ever get sick. Really, hate is a strong word, more like I envy them because that is not me. Then there are those woman that do get sick, but it only lasts until around 12 weeks. Well, not for me. Nope, I am sick the whole time. I vomit the whole 9 months. It does get better around week 25. Usually then, I only throw up about 2-3 times a week instead of multiple times a day.
Yes I have talked to my doctors about this. I am on about 3 different kinds of nausea pills. On a good day with the pills I'll vomit only once and on the rare (really rare) occasion, I wont at all. Those are the days that I pray for.
Like I said, this time around seems to be worse. Not only am I feeling more sick then usual, I have started to have sciatic nerve problems sooner than I did with my other kids. The other night I couldn't even get up off of the couch because it was so bad. I am only 15 weeks. I still have a long ways to go and a lot of growing to do.
I am hoping that maybe a lot of my issues are just stemming from the stress of school and such, so maybe after Christmas it will get better. We will see.

Just plain boring...

I have to admit, I am just plain boring right now. I am too busy with school to even be able to do other things. I think that my attitude for this semester is slowly going down hill. I am tired of being stressed out, I am tired of always telling my kids that I am busy right now and that I will be with them in a minute. I am tired of being tired. December cannot come soon enough. I feel like I am missing out on so much right now. I know school is a good thing, but I think for me right now, it will be good to take a break.
I have made some resolutions with myself.
First, I will make more time for my kids. I don't want to be one of those parents that keeps blowing them off to where eventually they will stop coming to me for things. I want to have a relationship with them, I want them to know that I am there to listen to them and to talk to them about what is on their minds.
Along with making more time for my kids, I want to "play" with my kids. There is a lot of times that I have thought about the fact that I don't actually sit down and play with them. Sure I read them books (sometimes begrudgingly), and I let them "help" me when I make a cake or cook, but I don't sit down and get on their level and play with them. It is something that I want to do more of.
I want to watch less TV and limit my time on the computer. It's funny that we don't even have cable, but yet my husband and I spend a lot of time that we could be doing things as a family watching net flicks or movies. I think that if I spent less time doing these things, the more I could be creative and come up with fun things for my kids and I to do.
An important one for me is, I don't want to yell anymore! I came from a family that yelled a lot, and I hated it then. I wonder sometimes if I hated it then so much, why do I do it now. I notice too that since I do a lot of yelling, my kids are starting to yell at each other to get their points across. I don't want to live in a household like that, and I don't want my kids to either. Yelling really doesn't get me anywhere. It doesn't make my kids listen more, it's not effective, so why do I keep on doing it?
I want to start "asking" instead of "demanding". I hate it when I feel like I am just a maid or servant in my own house. I don't like it when my kids "demand" things from me like "mom, get me a drink, or mom, make me lunch". But in all fairness, where did they learn it from? That's right, me with my "put on your shoes and go clean your room." I know that the example starts with me. I know that if my kids see me asking them to do things instead of telling them that it will change the way that they go about asking for things too.
That is only some of the things that I want to change about myself, and I know it won't be easy and I know that it won't happen over night. I want to be better at raising my children. I want them to feel the love that I have for them everyday. But I know that just telling them with words isn't enough, I need to show them with my actions.
I kind of went off on a tangent here but, it was just the thoughts that were in my head that I felt that I needed to write down. I have thought them for awhile but now hopefully since I have written them down, I will be held more accountable for making sure that I start working on them instead of just saying in my head that I need to.

So Freakin' Busy, but here is Yellowstone

School has been crazy for me this semester. I am never home and feel like a horrible mom because when I am home, I am studying. My poor kids! So, to all of my friends who think that I am ignoring you, or if I just haven't talked to you in awhile, it's not on purpose I promise! Anyway, so it would happen, I have just a few extra minutes to hurry and post something.
This was from our trip in July. We went to Yellowstone and of course, saw Old Faithful. Yes we have done it before, but it was nice to do it again. It was a lot warmer this time around then when we had gone before. Here's pics.
This was us trying to take the picture ourselves. We weren't quite ready, can you tell?

Allergic to what exactly?

On our way home from our vacation in July, Taegyn's eye started to swell up. Not only swell up, but swell shut. She got bit by something on her eyebrow in the afternoon, and by that night, she couldn't see out of her eye.
The next day (after a trip to the ER, and lots of Benadryll), it looked a little better.

She had an allergic reaction to whatever it was that happened to bite her.
Hopefully, it doesn't happen too often because I sure did feel bad for my little girl.

Time to go Private

I have thought a lot about this, and I have decided I should set my blog to private. Let me know if you would like to still follow this blog and I will add you to my list.

A long awaited post

I have been too busy lately to post. But now that I have a little down time, I thought I would do some catching up. So for the first post of many to come is...Our trip to Kanab.
My dad is currently working in Kanab and we decided to take a little trip to visit him. I had the kids by myself because Cory had to work, but I had some help since all my siblings and their kids were also there. We had so much fun while we were there. It was Fourth of July weekend so there was a lot to do.We spent a whole day at Lake Powell. It was the first time that I have ever been there. My kids are such water babies that they absolutely loved it. The water was so warm that you didn't want to even get out.We went to a splash park and played, and then on our last full day, we went to Zion.I have been to Zion once before, but you forget how beautiful it is there. The red rocks are just so amazing!
We will have to go back when the kids are a little older and do some of the trails that they have there for you to hike.My kids had a lot of fun hanging out with their cousins and their grandparents. Thanks Dad for letting us stay at your house and create some good memories!

Cascade Springs

We decided to take a little drive up American Fork Canyon the other night with our friends to Cascade Springs. It had been a really long time since Cory and I have been up there.

The drive was a lot farther then I had remembered it being but it was worth it.
The scenery was beautiful, and the kids had a blast running around the paths and over the bridges that they have there.

After seeing how much fun they had there, I think that I have come to the conclusion that we need to do this type of stuff with them more often.

Thanks Jacque and Marcus for coming with us!

Best Friends

Have you ever had a best friend that lived next to you or down the street from you growing up? I did. Her name is Erica Dore and she lived about 6 houses down from me. I met her when I was nine and we were inseparable ever since. We had our fair share of fun times and times where we got into trouble too. We could always be found riding our bikes, exploring the creek by our house, playing kickball or kick the can outside our houses, or inside playing Guess Who or Mario Brothers. It's true that we snuck out a lot (mostly my idea), and spent a good deal of the summer sleeping out on our tramp when it wasn't raining. I loved having a best friend that lived so close to do so much with. To this day we are still best friends, even though we live four states away from each other. The best thing about our friendship is that we can go weeks without talking, and then just pick up right where we left off.
I have always wished that my kids would have this type of friendship that I was so lucky to have.
Taegyn has a girl named Josie that lives right next door to us that I think will become her best friend too. They already play so much together. They both are full of attitude and great imaginations.
I know that if she is even half my daughter I will have to keep a watchful eye on her when her and Josie hit teenage years. I love watching them together even now because it reminds me of the friendship that Erica and I have. Here's to many years of trouble and fun!
