Finally, an update!

I know, I know...How long has it been since I last updated my blog? To start off, we are finally in our house and are Loving it!!! Cory's family came down from Montana to help us paint when we moved in. I really just wanted to move in and enjoy my house, not spend time painting, but now that it's all done, I wouldn't have done it any other way. I love it and if feels so much more like home having it painted and done!
I started working as and MA after hours at a Pediatric office. It was a really hard adjustment to go back to work after three years of being a stay home mom. But, I really enjoy my job. They are really good at working around my school schedual and also my family schedual. I only work three days a week (which is plenty for me). I do miss my family while I'm not home and sometimes I think that it's just easier to stay home, but I am getting great experience in a medical setting and the company is great to work for.
My semester in school is almost over. This is my last week, then I get a three week break before Spring semester starts.
The kids are good. They are enjoying more of the Daddy time that they get now that Cory is home more and for the first time in our married lives, he isn't working two jobs!
I would also like to announce to those of you who don't already know, that we are expecting Baby #3 in May. We are really excited to be bringing another sweet spirit into the family. deKyn and Taegyn are really excited about the baby in mommy's tummy. At least for now anyway. I think that they might change their minds when the baby actually gets here. :)
I want to wish everyone a Merry Christams, and to also say how thankful I am for my family and friends. We are very greatful for all the help that has been given to our family especially this year. We can't thank all of you enough!

Join the working class

After a lot of praying, searching, more praying, and applying, I got a job! The perfect job for us! I am so excited to say that I am going to be a new employee at Alpine Pediatrics! I am joining their team working as a medical assistant on their night rotation! I'm so glade not to have to worry about working graves. This is a part time, 2-3 days a week job from 6-10:30 p.m., this works out great for us because Cory will be home to watch the kids and spend quality time with them. It's also very great for me because I get to use my CNA, get some added hands on training, as-well-as getting my foot in the door to a medical field, while I keep working to get my nursing degree.
It's a lot of change at once, and it will take a little getting used to, but I truly am very excited. I don't think that I could have asked for a better job opportunity to come up for us.

3 years away from being 30!

It's official. I turned 27 and am now three years from being thirty. I know that's silly, but thirty always seemed so far away to me. Times have sure changed. Don't you remember when you were little when a year was something that seemed like a very long time. Summer time was always endless. It just seems like the world is speeding up the older I get. I can't believe a am already another year older. A lot has happened this year that's for sure. I went back to school, started building a house, moved three different times, and I was dealing with the baby stage this time last year with Taegyn, but now her and deKyn are both toddlers. It would be nice for time to stand still for just a moment so that I can feel like I am reveling in the moment instead of looking back and asking myself what just happened.
Anyway, enough rambling. I had a great birthday! One of my greatest, and most awesome friend (Kelsey), took both my kids for me for the night so that Cory and I could go out for my birthday. We went golfing (which I haven't done since I was pregnant with deKyn) and yes I did kinda suck, but I did get a bogey! Then after golf we went to the UVU girls Volleyball game (they one 3 games to none, GO UVU!), and then we went out to eat at Carabba's. It was so nice to go out without the kids and enjoy some time with my husband! Thanks again Kelsey! So, my birthday was great. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Wanna be like you...

I paint Taegyn's toenails often because she always watches me paint mine. I like the french manicure look but with a twist.I use a black permanent marker to draw on my lines at the top of my toe nails after I have painted a base color.Well, Taegyn found that marker the other day, and decided to do her nails herself. She was very proud of herself.

Taegyn had fun too!

I had to include pictures of Taegyn too!

deKyn blowing out his candles on his cake.

Happy 3rd Birthday deKyn!

It was deKyn's third birthday on Saturday. I can't believe he is three! Where does the time go? Cory and I took deKyn and Taegyn to the State Fair for deKyn's birthday. They got to go on a pony ride, and got to pet some cows, sheep, goats, and deKyn's favorite, horses. We also ate snow cones and popcorn, and rode some of the rides that were there. We took deKyn to Cabella's earlier that day to feed the fish they have there, and to play their shooting games that they have. I think the shooting was his favorite part. After that, we went back to Tyler and Karen's house for just a small party to open some presents and to have cake. We will be doing a Pirate Party for him when we move into our house, but we wanted to do something small for him on his birthday (hence the ugly skull cake). It was great to spend the day as a family celebrating deKyn's third birthday.

Another Update...

We have a new move in date for our house. Of course it's later rather then sooner. We now have our open house date set for the 24th of September, so it's officially our date now. No more changes! (or so they tell us)
We got carpet yesterday in our house and I love how it brings everything together. The appliances are hooked up and working, and all the base boards are on and painted. The inside is almost completely finished and its so interesting to see it done!
We have a deck to build off our back door, and we have to finish our lawn and a few other odds and ends, but other then that, our house is done!
Rural Housing (the program we are building through) has finally also agreed to put in a rock retaining wall for us in our front yard since it slopes really bad to help level out the yard. Cory and I are really excited about this because for one it will make our front yard look so much better, and we were worried about doing it ourselves when we moved in since we wouldn't have been able to afford it.
This has been a long year with building and it's so nice to be coming to a close! I can't wait to finally move into the thing that we have been working so hard, for so long on. I also can't wait to have Cory home at nights. He won't know what to do with all his free time!
I really want to thank all of you that have helped us out with babysitting, helping us build, or just giving us an ear to complian to. We couldn't have done it without you guys. We really appreciate the sacrafices everyone has made on our part to help us get into our first home. Thank You!

Goodbye Summer Time

We did so many fun things this summer from the going to the park, camping, feeding the ducks, playing in the sand, playing with water balloons, going to Vernal to see Grandpa and the dinosaurs, to a lot of swimming.
Everyday the kids asked to go swimming. Some days we would go to the lake but most days we filled up the pool in the back yard and would swim.
It supplied hours and hours of outdoor fun. I'm sad summer is ending, but am looking forward to another season beginning!

Get Well

deKyn's cousins, Hannah and Sammie, and Taegyn made him some Get Well Soon cards while he was at the hospital, and then gave them to him when he got back.

It was so sweet of them to make him cards. He loved them!

Adenoids

deKyn had his surgery on his adenoids on the 26th of August at the American Fork Hospital. He did very well going into surgery, the nurses were so good with him we were very impressed. Coming out of sugery was another story. It was a little rough for him. He wasn't happy at all when they brought him into the recovery room. He really hated his I.V. and tried to pull it out himself.
The nurses didn't want to take the I.V. out until he would drink on his own, but he wanted nothing to do with listening to what the nurses wanted or what his mom and dad wanted him to do. He cried and cried until the nurses finally decided to take out his I.V. After he got it out, he still wouldn't drink anything, he wanted to go home so that he could see Sammie (his cousin). He kept saying "please see Sammie", and to "please go bye-bye", over and over.
It breaks your heart to see your child so upset like that. The doctor didn't want to let us leave until he had some fluids. Cory and I finally convinced that that if they would just let us leave, he would drink his sippie. Reluctantly they did, and sure enough as soon as we got him into he car, he downed his sippie. We then took him to go get pirate swords, and then went to go see Sammie.

After we got him away from the hospital, he was running around and playing and acting as though nothing even happened. I am greatful that all went well and that he recovered so quickly. I am also greatful for the doctors and nurses for doing a great job with deKyn, especially pre-surgery.

Take a Peek

Our house is getting closer and closer to being done. We have come a long way from just a pile of dirt. Our move in date is still the 15th of September. I will have to do another picture when we are finally all finished and our lawn is in and everything. But here is where we are at right now.

Vernal

The kids and I took a trip to Vernal, Ut last week to visit Grandpa, (my dad), for a week. We had a lot of fun while we were there. We did a lot of relaxing, site seeing, and swimming. We took some drives up the canyon to look at the beautiful red rock mountains too. I tried to take pictures of how pretty it was up the canyon, but it just didn't do it justice. We also went to the Natural History Museum and the kids loved the dinosaurs on display. Vernal's like the capitol for dinosaurs in the state of Utah or something, they have Dino sculptures everywhere. I tried to get deKyn and Taegyn to take a picture with one of the big long neck dinosaur skeletons that was in the front door of the Natural History Museum, but they were scared of it. It was so nice to get away for a while and to spend one-on-one time with Grandpa. We all had so much fun we will definately have to go back again for a visit.

Updates...

Taegyn just peed on the potty!!!! Yeah, I am so excited. I hope that this trend can continue and that she will be potty trained in a couple months. I also hope that deKyn will pick up on what his little sister is doing and want to try too. However, I'm not going to push either of them. Just strongly encourage :)
Also, deKyn had his appointment with the E.N.T. specialist and his adenoids are going to need to be removed. They will be calling us with the date that we will be taking deKyn in for their removal. It's an out-patient surgery that should only take about a half hour. We are excited for deKyn to finally get the help he needs to breath, talk and sleep without the horrible snoring.

Bought the pull-ups

I bought some pull-ups today, but not for deKyn. I bought them for Taegyn. She is so interested in the potty, unlike deKyn, and even though she is a little young, I figure why not potty train her. I would be surprised if she didn't pick up on it quickly. She asks to sit on the potty all the time even though she has yet to actually "go". So, tomorrow will be our official "potty training" day. Wish me luck!!!

Ear, Nose and Throat

We finally have an appointment with the Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for deKyn. We have been talking to his doctors about his adnoids (or however you spell it) since he was a new born, and they kept brushing us off. Finally, our pediatrition listed to our complaints and why we think he is having problems, and gave us a referral to the Specialist.
The appointment's next Wednesday. I know deKyn probably won't be extremely happy about being there, but if it fixes his problems then that would be great! We'll let everyone know how it goes next week.

Moving time...

It's coming up, moving time again. Time to pack everything that already isn't in storage into boxes and totes once again, and move. However, this is not the big move that we've been waiting and working for that I'm talking about. We get to go through all the motions (and those of you that have packed and moved with kids recently know what I'm talking about), not to mention the stress and cleaning that is synonymous with moving. Our contract is up at the end of this month so we will be in limbo until our house is finally done. It wouldn't bother me so much other than the fact of my kids. They have a hard time transitioning from one spot to another. This will be our third move this year, with our forth lurking around the corner in another month after that. Just another reason why I can't wait for our house to be complete so that our living situation will be stable for at least a couple years!
