Wanna be like you...

I paint Taegyn's toenails often because she always watches me paint mine. I like the french manicure look but with a twist.I use a black permanent marker to draw on my lines at the top of my toe nails after I have painted a base color.Well, Taegyn found that marker the other day, and decided to do her nails herself. She was very proud of herself.

Taegyn had fun too!

I had to include pictures of Taegyn too!

Happy 3rd Birthday deKyn!

It was deKyn's third birthday on Saturday. I can't believe he is three! Where does the time go? Cory and I took deKyn and Taegyn to the State Fair for deKyn's birthday. They got to go on a pony ride, and got to pet some cows, sheep, goats, and deKyn's favorite, horses. We also ate snow cones and popcorn, and rode some of the rides that were there. We took deKyn to Cabella's earlier that day to feed the fish they have there, and to play their shooting games that they have. I think the shooting was his favorite part. After that, we went back to Tyler and Karen's house for just a small party to open some presents and to have cake. We will be doing a Pirate Party for him when we move into our house, but we wanted to do something small for him on his birthday (hence the ugly skull cake). It was great to spend the day as a family celebrating deKyn's third birthday.

Another Update...

We have a new move in date for our house. Of course it's later rather then sooner. We now have our open house date set for the 24th of September, so it's officially our date now. No more changes! (or so they tell us)
We got carpet yesterday in our house and I love how it brings everything together. The appliances are hooked up and working, and all the base boards are on and painted. The inside is almost completely finished and its so interesting to see it done!
We have a deck to build off our back door, and we have to finish our lawn and a few other odds and ends, but other then that, our house is done!
Rural Housing (the program we are building through) has finally also agreed to put in a rock retaining wall for us in our front yard since it slopes really bad to help level out the yard. Cory and I are really excited about this because for one it will make our front yard look so much better, and we were worried about doing it ourselves when we moved in since we wouldn't have been able to afford it.
This has been a long year with building and it's so nice to be coming to a close! I can't wait to finally move into the thing that we have been working so hard, for so long on. I also can't wait to have Cory home at nights. He won't know what to do with all his free time!
I really want to thank all of you that have helped us out with babysitting, helping us build, or just giving us an ear to complian to. We couldn't have done it without you guys. We really appreciate the sacrafices everyone has made on our part to help us get into our first home. Thank You!

Goodbye Summer Time

We did so many fun things this summer from the going to the park, camping, feeding the ducks, playing in the sand, playing with water balloons, going to Vernal to see Grandpa and the dinosaurs, to a lot of swimming.
Everyday the kids asked to go swimming. Some days we would go to the lake but most days we filled up the pool in the back yard and would swim.
It supplied hours and hours of outdoor fun. I'm sad summer is ending, but am looking forward to another season beginning!

Get Well

deKyn's cousins, Hannah and Sammie, and Taegyn made him some Get Well Soon cards while he was at the hospital, and then gave them to him when he got back.

It was so sweet of them to make him cards. He loved them!

Adenoids

deKyn had his surgery on his adenoids on the 26th of August at the American Fork Hospital. He did very well going into surgery, the nurses were so good with him we were very impressed. Coming out of sugery was another story. It was a little rough for him. He wasn't happy at all when they brought him into the recovery room. He really hated his I.V. and tried to pull it out himself.
The nurses didn't want to take the I.V. out until he would drink on his own, but he wanted nothing to do with listening to what the nurses wanted or what his mom and dad wanted him to do. He cried and cried until the nurses finally decided to take out his I.V. After he got it out, he still wouldn't drink anything, he wanted to go home so that he could see Sammie (his cousin). He kept saying "please see Sammie", and to "please go bye-bye", over and over.
It breaks your heart to see your child so upset like that. The doctor didn't want to let us leave until he had some fluids. Cory and I finally convinced that that if they would just let us leave, he would drink his sippie. Reluctantly they did, and sure enough as soon as we got him into he car, he downed his sippie. We then took him to go get pirate swords, and then went to go see Sammie.

After we got him away from the hospital, he was running around and playing and acting as though nothing even happened. I am greatful that all went well and that he recovered so quickly. I am also greatful for the doctors and nurses for doing a great job with deKyn, especially pre-surgery.
